Lifetime Award 2011 – Simon Medlock

Simon started out in Larp by playing at Treasure Trap in 1983 when he also made his first weapon.

In 1985 he started Medlock Armouries. He also wrote and ran adventures for Treasure Trap, as well as at Spirit of Adventure.

1986 saw the advent of latex in use as a durable and attractive outer layer, in place of duct tape.

Around 1987, he was one of the first to use Isoflex as a protective varnish on latex weapons.

Simon estimates that he is responsible for the creation of approximately 75,000 weapons and is still manufacturing individually hand painted works of art with no plans to stop yet.
